A home inspection is not necessary unless it is included in the terms under which the purchaser agrees to buy the home, which is also known as the Offer to Purchase.  Although it may initially seem like an unnecessary expense, home inspections can save you time and money.  An inspector will ensure that all your home’s major systems are working properly, and inform you of any potential problems.  A home inspection is also a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with your new home.  Please see the “Home Inspection” article for more information.
